Your Guide To Bidding With Confidence

Whether you’re attending one of our live auctions in Central Ohio or bidding online from anywhere, the process is straightforward. Here’s everything you need to know to get started.

Live Auction Bidding

Attending a live auction is simple. Proceed to the cashier’s desk and provide your driver’s license and telephone number in exchange for your bid card. Bid on the items you want, and when you’re finished, return your bid card to the cashier who will process payment for your winning bids.

Can’t Attend in Person?

We offer absentee and phone bidding for those unable to attend live auctions. Contact us before the auction to arrange absentee or phone bidding services. All absentee/phone bidders must:

  • Register with Hoffman Auctions and agree to auction terms
  • Provide valid credit card information for automatic payment processing
  • Understand that bids cannot be withdrawn or amended once placed
  • Note that in the event of a tie bid, the floor bidder will be awarded the item

Payment for absentee/phone bids is processed on the first business day after the auction. Payment terms and any applicable discounts vary by auction—refer to specific auction terms for details.

Online Auction Bidding

Registration Process:

  1. Visit our online auction platform and click “Login/Register”
  2. Create your account with contact information and address
  3. Enter credit card details for registration
  4. Browse active auctions and register for specific sales by agreeing to terms

Placing Bids:

Once registered, you can place bids on any items in auctions you’ve registered for. You’ll receive confirmation emails for your bids. After the auction closes, your registered credit card is automatically charged for winning bids plus buyer’s premium and applicable sales tax.

Be sure to read the specific auction terms, attend any scheduled previews when possible, and note the pickup date and location.

  • Mastercard

We do not accept checks.

Pickup Requirements:

All items must be picked up during scheduled times as specified in each auction’s terms. Bring a valid photo ID and your winning bid confirmation. Items not picked up during the designated timeframe may be subject to storage fees or forfeiture. Shipping is available on some online auctions as a separate charge.
